This thursday we took a trip down to Mission Bay in San Diego to work on a dock where there had been a boat fire months prior.  Our crew got their hands dirty on this job!  We removed and replaced 2 burnt fingers and redecked the burned area.  We replaced the melted floats with new flotation pontoons beneath the headwalk where we also installed new decking.  There were 2 specific electrical towers that we matched and replaced with new.  We installed new 10″ PVC cleeves over existing burnt guide pipes.  This was no simple job!  Throughout the dock there was messy soot as well as melted fiberglass from the boat.  Wow!  Someone happened to have a camera when it happened and you can watch that here:

Luckily no one was hurt in the fire.  Accidents like these really force us to be thankful for our lives and how fortunate we are to have what we have.  This was a very unfortunate event, but now the owner gets to enjoy a brand new dock.
